My Year With a Jersey Girl is a very sweet book about a father who agrees to watch his son's Golden Retriever while his son is stationed overseas. From the very first chapter, I could tell I would enjoy the author's "voice." His style of story-telling reminds of phone calls home to my own parents filled with stories of their pets' latest adventures. I laughed out loud several times throughout the book at tales of Jersey's antics (often at the author's expense) but was equally touched by the connection that the author and Jersey shared. I would recommend this book to any dog lover looking for a quick, but amusing read.Product details

This was a heartfelt story about a man and a dog. No doubt Golden Retrievers are great dogs, but they are goofy, too. This story captures the essence of goofiness!
This is a loveable story about a man with a big heart, compassion and a love for animals, and his family, funny and irristable, This author has a bright future ahead.I hope to see a lot more from him...
A quick read, made me smile, laugh and want to meet Jersey Girl and get her take on ME! haha Yes, these creatures - Man's best friend - know exactly what they are doing. Something I've always believed, and thanks to your book Joe, something I now know is so true! She was not going to let you win. SHE had the last word! You go girl!!
A year with Jersey Girl was a most enjoyable read, especially since I have had the pleasure of getting to know both of them. My question is who needed the therpy, Joe or Jersey? Lol. Kidding aside Joseph Mercurio you are wise and talented writer. Please continue to share your talents. Looking forward to your next book.
If you've ever loved someone or something that also drove you batty--this is a story to which you can relate! Sometimes we are trying very hard to bring shape to something only to discover that we are the ones who have been shaped by the experience. Kids of any age will love this sweet story.
After much hounding by Joe, I thought I would throw him a bone and write this review. As soon as I spot-ted this book, without a paws, I knew I needed to read it. Even though it is filled with many tails of Jersey flea-ing and giving him a ruff time, I think watching Jersey gave the author a new leash on life. Though I don't have much to bassett on, I can tell the author loves his son very much. The story wasn't hard to kee pup with, and it might be hard to terrier self away from. You kennel find this book on and wherever books are sold!
